A new website has been launched to help people across St Albans and District access grassroots sport easier.

MyLocalPitch is a search and booking portal for grassroots sports venues with the “ongoing mission of getting more people into sports using innovative technology”.

They have launched a page specifically for St Albans and Harpenden, with sports such as football, golf and tennis available at places like Cotlandswick Leisure Centre, Abbey View Golf Course and Harpenden Sports Centre.

A spokesman for MyLocalPitch said: “We offer 15 sports on the site and have recently launched bespoke borough pages to make playing sport even more accessible.

“Our St Albans page lets people come onto a page dedicated to the area and search and book local sports facilities like Batchwood Sports Centre.”

“Our aim is getting more people into sport so people can gain from the physical and mental benefits of physical exercise.

“The venues we work with have seen increased revenues from more people visiting the facilities and they become easier to manage thanks to intuitive booking systems.”
