Martin Standen is the man chosen by Harpenden Town to lead the club into the new season.
He takes over from Danny Plumb who stepped down after five years in the role and while it is relatively early in his managerial career, the experienced former midfielder believes he is more than capable of flourishing in the role.
The former Cambridge City and Royston Town man also had spells at Hatfield Town, Welwyn Garden City and Colney Heath among others but in his first job at the helm he steered Bovingdon to the Spartan South Midlands League Division Two title.
"I've really enjoyed it," he said. "Management seems to suit me.
"The Harpenden job looks a good role for me. It seems like a really good club but I wouldn't take on a job or unless it's something I can achieve."
Bovingdon's record showed 22 wins and two draws from their 26 league games last season and they finished four points clear of the nearest rivals.
That effort over the year should have gained them promotion to Division One as well but Bovingdon fell foul of ground grading rules.
Standen admitted he will bring some players with him and is in no doubt about what he can achieve with Harps.
"I want the top five at least", he said with confidence. "With the players I'll have that's a definite possibility.
"People thought I woouldn't last the season at Bovingdon but I stuck it out and won the league.
"I have a winning mentality and that's what will help me at Harpenden."
