Southend continued their impressive start to the National League season with a 3-1 win over struggling Tamworth.
The hosts had the ball in the net 12 minutes in, but Harry Cardwell’s strike was ruled out for offside.
Southend went ahead on the hour mark through Leon Chambers-Parillon, who fired low into the left-hand corner from the edge of the area.
Promise Omochere doubled the lead eight minutes later when he headed in smartly from Kyle McAdam’s cross.
Tamworth, who have now lost five of their first eight games, hit back just two minutes later as Nathan Tshikuna thumped the ball into the net after driving into the area.
But Sam Austin made sure of the points with an emphatic volley eight minutes from time to secure Southend a fifth win of the season.
