Fleetville Junior School added more sporting silverware to its already impressive haul after the girls’ six-a-side football team won the Shield.
Earlier in the year the boys’ football team won the league for the first time in 30 years while the girls broke a nine-year run without lifting the trophy. They also won the cup competitions.
In the large primary school cross country meet, the Fleetville was runner-up while they went one better in the district athletics as the girls topped the standings. The combined boys’ and girls’ team came second.
Elsewhere, the girls’ and boys’ tennis teams won the district competition, came second in the tri golf and reached the last four and the last eight of the Centurions and Saracens rugby competitions respectively. Last week Fleetville was runner-up to Wheatfields in the mixed kwik cricket tournament.
