JULY is a month Townsend would like to forget after a promising start to the season the wheels have come off the clubs quest for honours.
Last week saw the exit from the County pairs fours and singles at the semi-final stage so for the first time for a number of years the club will not be represented at the National Finals at Worthing.
The disappointment was compounded by the club losing the Stock Trophy to Century and a district League game to Harpenden. The one positive was the defeat of Hatfield taking the club into the semi-final of the Bob Vise Trophy against Hemel Hempstead.
On Sunday Townsend club president Stuart Mather led St Albans District to a 5-0 win against North West Essex District.
