OLD Albanians U8s enjoyed mixed fortunes at the Hertfordshire Tag Rugby Festival.
Demonstrating the club’s enormous strength in depth, both the teams entered in the “B” competition were unbeaten in the group stages, and met in the final, ending a closely fought game 5-2.
OA’s F team battled through to their final, losing 5-3 to Hertford.
In the cup competition, the A squad, winners at the same competition in 2012, were eliminated from the group stages on a coin toss, being inseperable on points from Royston. A disappointing ending for them, but indicative of the high standard of rugby displayed by all the young participants on a fine day at Fullerians.
