St Albans City will be without Geoff Mitchell for ‘at least a month’ after the striker underwent an appendectomy.

The 24-year-old signed for City ahead of the trip to Ebbsfleet where he came off the bench before starting in a 2-2 draw with Bromley.

Speaking to Saintsnet, joint manager James Gray said: “He thought he had flu but it was a bit worse than that!

“He wants to be back and playing but I think it’ll be at least a month. He’s a big, strong lad and somebody we want back sooner rather than later.”
