The Cross Country season continued on Saturday with St Albans Striders competing in the National Cross Country Relays at Mansfield.
Striders were represented by the young athletes James McMurray, Oliver Poulain and Andrew Wheatcroft from St Albans AC, who faced strong opposition but ran well to finish 41st out of 56 teams.
Closer to home, the Stevenage Half Marathon saw several Striders complete course. First Strider home was Jo Dunn in 1hr 22mins 56secs. Also running were Hallam Smallpeice (1:30.09), Doug Bates (1:33.58), Ian Nichol (1:39.45), Richard Olney (1:44.34), Lucy Martin (1:47.42) and Peter Rogers (1:51.01).
Also racing were Edward Bailey, who finished the Cheshire Half Marathon in a personal best of 1hr 34mins 16secs, Doug Hobson, who ran the Regents Park 10k in a personal best of 39mins 52secs and Jack Brooks, who finished the Oporto Marathon in 3hrs 58mins 37secs.
