After winning the Junior Club Championship, Harpenden Common’s Sam Morley added the singles title to his 2014 haul.

Playing in the matchplay final against Louis Hindle, Sam stormed to a commanding five-up lead after eight holes.

Louis bounced back on the inward nine with birdies to reduce the deficit and provide a thrilling, if not nail biting, end to the match. Sam held on to win 2&1 but both boys played sparkling golf.

With the Ryder Cup only a few days away this match proved to be a great advert for matchplay golf. Harpenden Common Juniors travel to Woburn Golf Club this weekend for an end of season competition playing the Marquess Course.
