London Colney manager Ryan Thompson and his talented youngsters travel to Spartan South Midlands Premier Division rivals Tring on Saturday looking for a fourth straight league win.

After losing to Hertford Town in the Charity Shield Final last week, the Blueboys would have been forgiven for a dip in form.

However Thompson’s side have showed, as Iain Dowie unforgettably put it, ‘bouncebackability’, winning two on the spin in four days, leaving them a win away from the top six.

“These are some of the best group of players I’ve ever had,” said Thompson. “We are a very young side and it will be difficult to keep hold of these talented youngsters. They have a great mentality and their work ethic and commitment is top draw.”

Colney’s congested fixture list has taken it’s toll on Thompson’s young prodigies, with Dan Power suspended and captain Greg Shaw and James Lawrence are both injured and will miss their difficult trip to eighth placed Tring.

“It should be a really tough game as they are on a good run of form themselves (five wins from nine) and on their own patch they can beat anyone,” Thompson said.

Colney have lost just twice in 11 games in all competitions and drew 1-1 at home with Tring way back in August.
