ARCHERY: ACE SHOT Mary Perrott of Abbey Bowmen St Albans, retained her title of Senior Lady Compound Champion for the third year running at the Herts Archery Association Indoor championships last weekend.
The 18-year-old set a new county record and equalled the current national record. Mary who is supported by the government talented athlete sponsorship scheme, is now studying at Portsmouth University. She recently returned from the first leg of the archery world cup indoor challenge, held at Nimes in France where she qualified in ninth place. This placed her ahead of two of the British 2010 commonwealth gold medal winning ladies team, and only one point behind the third. Her score once again well exceeded the current Herts county record.
