VICTORY against Bath City made it five wins on the bounce for Saints in the league and seven wins from the last nine. Castle is not getting carried away though and believes his team must improve. He said: "We can make hard work of it and there are a couple of issues we have got to address. A couple of things weren't good. The goal we conceded was a bit freakish but we should have stopped the cross going in.

We were still not that fluent but we will take it. The lads deserve a lot of praise. The two strikers have scored and hopefully now they can push onwards and upwards.

"It was a hard ground out victory. The football wasn't quite there yet but we showed that grit and determination. I am really, really happy with the way it worked out. We are pleased with the attitude that they are showing and we have faith that with maybe a couple of additions we are going to get our football going a little bit more."

With City 1-0 down at the break and struggling to make an impact on the game, Castle saw his substitutes Hakim and James Quilter make a positive contribution. Quilter was involved in the opening goal and Hakim netted the second. Castle also saw his decision to switch Gary Cohen from attack to the right wing pay off in spectacular fashion. He said: "With Jonathan Hunt being comfortable on either side we could get all three strikers on and it worked. The first goal came from a great delivery and a great bit of play from Jonathan Hunt. James Quilter did very well to set Jonathan Hunt up for the cross. He got himself forward well. Andy Edwards said at half time that if midfielders could get past the strikers they become unmarkable and James did that with his forward run which really stretched them. Gary Cohen then did ever so well for the second goal and it is nice that we have that option. He delivered a quality cross as well."

City make the trip to Bromley on Saturday in the Blue Square South and they then go to Hemel Hempstead Town on Tuesday in the Herts Charity Cup. Kick off is 7.45pm.
