Wes Awad capped an impressive first season at Colney Heath by steering his side to Herts FA Charity Shield glory on Tuesday night.
Two goals from Jay Welsh saw the Magpies beat St Margaretsbury 2-1 at The County Ground.
Awad came back for a second spell at Heath in May last year having served as manager for the 2008/09, 09/10 and 10/11 seasons. In the final season Awad, and fellow joint manager Scott Lacey, guided Colney Heath to the Premier Division Cup and a fifth placed league finish.
This season Awad has improved the high standards he set last time round, establishing Heath as a top three side in the SSML Premier Division and setting them up for a serious promotion push in 2014/15. He also sent Heath on an 16-game unbeaten run in the league.
And to cap off an already impressive campaign, Awad picked up his second win over St Margaretsbury on Tuesday night in the Shield final.
