COLNEY Heath kick off their FA Vase campaign with an interesting clash away at Hoddesdon on Friday.

The Magpies under the management of Scott Lacey and Wesley Awad this season will take on former Colney Heath boss Geoff O'Vell. Kick off is 7.45pm at Hoddesdon.

The competition offers lucrative cash prizes for progressing through the rounds and joint boss Lacey is keen to reap the benefits. He said: "We are up against an old boss of Colney Heath in Geoff O'Vell so their will be a little bit of niggle there. We are looking forward to it. I would like to win two or three games in the Vase this year. Teams at our level and in our league have got to the quarter finals in recent years and we don't fear anyone from our league."

Experienced midfield star Neil Jordan has been a top performer for the Magpies this season and has received the praise of Lacey who said: "Neil has been outstanding and is proving one of the major plusses this year. At 35 his attitude to the game and his own self discipline is an example to everyone.
