Max MacKenzie and Edi Bockui brought their shooting boots as the pair helped Harpenden Colts Old Boys to a 5-0 win over Jolly Sailor in Division Four of the Herts Advertiser Sunday League.
MacKenzie hit a hat-trick on his way to the man of the match award while Bockui chipped in with two, taking his tally for the season up to 20.
The Colts seized control from the start and had a goal chalked off for offside before finally making the breakthrough.
They didn’t have it all their own way though against a Jolly Sailor outfit who competed for the full 90 minutes.
And they were unlucky not to score during a 10-minute period of pressure which caused plenty of consternation in the OB defence.
But after surviving that nervous spell Harpenden’s passing game allowed them to pick holes in the Jolly Sailors’ midfield and defence.
And had it not been for the keeper Jamie Whitehead, the OB’s may well have scored two or three goals more.

They settled on five though in what was a competitive game played in an extremely positive spirit.
On Good Friday, Tansley were indebted to TNF for agreeing to play on an artificial pitch after persistent rain put pay to their grass pitch at Welham Green.
And Tansley took both victories in the Division Three double header.
The first was a 1-0 success with Sanuel Ayo scoring while the second was 3-1.
The goals in that game were scored by Joseph Charles, Gavin Smith and Aaron Ferdinand with TNF’s reply coming from Ed Day.
Tom Kenneford was their outstanding player.
It was six important points for Tansley who have a backlog of fixtures due to their success in cup matches.
They have reached the final of both the Middlesex Vets Cup and the League Intermediate Cup, with the first of these coming this Sunday.
