LONDON Colney had a mixed week, returning to winning ways on Saturday with a 1-0 defeat of Sun Postal Sports before losing out in an eight-goal thriller to Kings Langley on Tuesday night.

The Blueboys had got back on track at Sun Postal on Saturday following two disappointing results the previous week with Paul Danslow netting the only goal of the game.

Substitute Danslow left it late to seal the three points for the Blueboys, latching onto Dave Corran's pass before turning his marker and smashing the ball home from six yards out.

It could have been a different result for the Blueboys had goalkeeper Rob Munn not bailed his defence out on a number of occasions early on.

The defence was all over the place in the opening exchanges and Munn was forced to deal with Fabian Forde's low drive and Leon Stewart's long range effort.

Danslow and Gary Simmonds were introduced at half time for the Blueboys and it was the visitors who had the first opening of the second period when Mark Paradise saw his long range effort saved.

Colney had a lucky escape when Darren Turner saw his shot come back off the inside of the post and the same player dragged a shot wide after a mix up by the defence.

With time running out and the game seemingly heading towards a draw up stepped Danslow to seal the win.

It was a different story on Tuesday night though as a poor defensive display lead to a 5-3 defeat at Kings Langley.

A fumble by Munn after just four minutes presented Craig Preston with Langley's first goal and Lewis Toomey bundled home the second 11 minutes later.

The home side had two more goals ruled out before David Parkinson pulled a goal back in the 35th minute with a rasping drive.

However the Blueboys found themselves 3-1 down just before the break as Dean Sinclair took advantage of a poorly positioned wall to bend home a free kick.

Frankie Jowle reduced the deficit 10 minutes into the second half with a free kick of his own but the joy was short-lived as Toomey fired home Langley's fourth 50 seconds later.

Langley added a fifth in the 77th minute when Sinclair took advantage of another poorly placed wall to convert his second free kick of the evening.

The final goal of the night went to the Blueboys when Parkinson converted a penalty but it was merely a consolation.

The Blueboys are in FA Vase action this Sunday when they travel to Brimsdown Rovers. Kick off is 1pm.

London Colney's Midweek Youth team beat North Greenford 3-1 thanks to two goals from Luke Thatcher and one from Yasin Saleem.
