SHENLEY Village Under 12s secured a dramatic double with victory against local rivals Radlett.
After winning the first match by six runs, Shenley were looking to double up away from home on Sunday, June 15.
Radlett batted first on a fine Sunday morning and were restricted to 50-2 off the first 12 overs.
Shenley captain Charlie Thurston placed his field excellently and impressed with the ball, finishing with figures of 3-15 off four overs. Excellent support from William Holland (1-15), Niraj Shah (1-9) and Ishaan Patel (0-10) frustrated Radlett's efforts.
Under pressure, Jaimin Patel (25 runs) and Harry Copley (27 not out) batted strongly to take Radlett to a respectable 105-6 after 20 overs.
In reply, Shenley Village showed their class as they crowned their best display of the summer. Charlie Thurston, continuing his blistering form, retired on 33 (including seven fours) off 27 balls and with dogged support from William Holland, Shenley were well placed on 46 runs after eight overs.
Ishaan Patel (25) entertained with a powerful display and with support from Jacob Haftel (15) set up the emphatic seven wicket win on 108-3. Radlett's Jaimin Patel came on too late to save the game, but finished with a maiden wicket over.
