St Albans City Ladies’ chance of a doing the double are over after a 1-0 loss to Leverstock Green in the semi-final of the League Cup.
City controlled the ball well throughout the game but they were unable to take their chances. Leverstock Green had suffered the same problem throughout the match until the 90th minute when they beat Sasha Tucker, City’s goalkeeper, to snatch the opportunity of extra-time away from the visitors.
The double is now out of the picture but hard work could still pay off for a league win. The ladies’ next game is home on April 6 against Harvesters, 2pm kick-off at London Colney FC, free admission.
Squad: Sasha Tucker, Emma Tammaro, Rachel Sherlow, Grace Campion, Sophie Green, Sammy Rowland, Lucy Hancock (C), Megan Kiff, Faith Trounce, Amber Charlton, Molly Slade, Sophie Joseph, Kelly Hancock, Holly Sheridan, Georga Knight.
