City will have to wait to see whether Tom Ward will be out for an extended period with a foot injury.
The defender, who signed for the Saints in December, unknowingly played against Chesham United and Hungerford Town with a broken bone with his right foot.
He was held out of Saturday’s 4-0 win over Frome Town and saw a specialist on Monday. Ward will be in a protective boot for two weeks before the club reassessed the injury, although he told the Herts Ad it is “not too bad” and “looks worse than it is.”
The injury looks set to keep him out of games against Corby (Jan 8), Chippenham (Jan 11), AFC Totton (Jan 13) and St Neots Town (Jan 18). However, with the rain continuing to fall across the country, Ward may not miss too many games.
