Ladies beat Belles
Hitchin B. 0 Harvesters Ladies 5
A TOP of the table meeting saw Harvesters Ladies take the honours with a comprehensive win over Hitchin Belles.
Hitchin had been holding the top slot until this tie on goal difference, but the table turned when Harvesters put in a great performance to take that position.
Megan Kelly showed her talent when, with her first touch of the ball, she planted it in the back of the net to take a 1-0 lead and no sooner had the celebrations finished when Kelly struck to make it 2-0.
After several close calls, Harvesters added a third in the 38th minute. Rampley used her pace to glide past the defence and knock the ball past the ‘keeper.
The defence stayed solid and after the break Bedi had a goal ruled offside. Not letting this bother her Bedi fired home the fourth after a pass from Kelly before Rampley put the icing on the cake with the fifth and final goal.
Kelly took the supporters’ Player of the Match whilst Katie Chandler was awarded manager’s Player of the Match.
