GYMNASTICS: ST ALBANS Gymnastics Club (SAADI) saw young star Jenna Hoyte sweep the board at its recent Club Championships in the Senior Cup Competition.

Jenna took the gold medal for all four disciplines that the club's gymnasts are asked to perform in the competition: vault, beam, bar and floor.

She was rewarded with the club's top award in her age group; the Bedford Cup. However, it was Jenna's floor routine that left spectators and coaches inspired by her skill and bravery.

The floor routine was executed to perfection and her artistic interpretation was scored extremely highly by the judges.

Speaking after the competition, head coach Penny Collins, said: "SAADI has produced some outstanding gymnasts over the years and Jenna is certainly up there with the best.

"However, this should not detract by some incredible performances by other gymnasts both in Jenna's age group and across all levels of the club. The skills that these young girls are displaying are a joy to watch."

Eighty-five gymnasts took part in the competition, the highest number in the club's history. Another notable performance came from Louise Neilson who also won straight gold in all four of her disciplines to walk away with the Junior Cup.

Promising newcomer Nicole Fletcher made her name by winning the Burgess Cup, a special award presented to the best beginner. Nicole came out on top after a hard fought competition amongst 35 newcomers to the club.
