Scoring five goals is an impressive feat in itself but it was only part of the story for Ally Hill – as the Phoenix Reserves man came off at half-time to run the line.
He was playing in a Herts Advertiser Knockout Cup game and plundered his haul in the first half of what turned into an 8-0 win over Facelad.
Jack Williams, Alex Dowell and Jack Lovett got the other goals.
Brookmans Park’s Dan Hart almost matched him, scoring four in a 6-3 victory over NBOB Res. Dave Fennell and Chris Powell also scored for Park while Breakspear’s goals came from Jack Gajjar, Daryl Hall and Max Evans.
A excellent performance and 5-2 win put Blackberry Jacks through against St Albans Irish. Frankie Jowle scored twice on his debut and there was also a brace for Wael Benatim.
Blacksmith Res needed penalties to beat Brookmans Park Res in the Herts Ad Intermediate Cup. The two sides had tied 2-2 after extra time earlier.
Oaks recorded their biggest win of the season, defeating St Albans Warriors 8-0.
Dexter Simpson led the way with a hat-trick and Scott Sherman chipped in with two. Chris Coleman, Louis Marsh and Paul Gillard wer ealso on target.
BWSC won 5-2 in the Herts Ad Junior Cup against Wheathampstead ‘89. It was a solid pewrformance with Matt Hudson leading the way with two.
Hatfield Mosquitto beat Harpenden Colts OB 2-1 in the Herts Junior Cup and the same score took Royston Rangers through to the next round over Athletico Quat.
Rangers’ reserve side though are out after losing 6-0 to AFC Mymms. Alex White bagged a hat-trick while Sedin Mustafic got a brace. Sam Patience had started things off with a 25-yard free-kick.
Two goals apiece from Jordan Lawrence and Callum Findlay helped Dagmar record an excellent 5-1 win against Jolly Sailor.
And star man Adam Clancy scored his first hat-trick of the season as Veer Dhara beat Hatfield Seniors 6-1.
Skew Bridge staged a remarkable comeback to beat Queens Head Sandridge 6-3 in the Premier Division.
Sam Doolan and two from Tom Li had put Queens ahead but Skew got their act together and a hat-trick from Ben Martin together with strikes from Lee Close, Ed Frost and Harry Hunt completed the victory.
AFC Rangers withstood first half pressure from Town Inn to win 2-0. Their goals came from Dean Thompson and Steff Geraldes.
Skew Bridge Res and Bradmore Rovers played out an entertaining 3-3 draw in Division One.
Cameron McKie put Skew ahead but Rhys Monger, an Ennis Daly penalty and Daryl Archer saw Rovers lead 3-1. But James Hardy and Chris Gregory ensured a share of the points.
Six Bells made hard work of the 5-2 win against Harpenden Athletic and left it until the last 20 minutes to secure the win. A hat-trick from Jack Read was the highlight.
There was another closely-fought contest in Division Two where Stonewood United drew 2-2 with Welwyn Warriors. Seamus Kerwick and Tom Mardle both scored their first goals for Stonewood while Dave Defeo and Steve Eldridge replied for Warriors.
Tansley went top of Division Three with a 4-1 victory over Power Fencing. Steve Weldon came off the bench to score two with Joseph Charles and Gavin Smith getting the others.
A penalty save from Dan Upwood and two goals from Sam Fisher secured Marshalswick Rovers first win of the season with a 2-1 success over New Greens.
Four late goals saw Blackboy beat Brookmans Park ‘A’ 5-1 in Division Four while CHL picked up their third victory with a 3-0 win against Wrestlers. Sam Margerrison, Scott Valentine and Craig Beach got their goals.
