LONDON Colney claimed their third win on the trot as they won 3-2 at London Tigers on Saturday.

While striker Matt Newman was absent, visiting family in the north east, Callum Wright was given a chance to play and he had a good game.

New signing from Colney Heath Tom Dickie had the first shot of the game which saw his effort flash just past Jamie Adim’s right hand post.

Wright put over two dangerous crosses into the box from the left.

The first was booted clear and nobody was able to get on the end of the second.

Next Craig Knightley had a low drive which Adim pushed away and although Greg Shaw pounced on the loose ball his follow-up shot went just wide.

At the other end Danny McCafferty, making a welcome return to the side from injury, did well to clear a dangerous cross in to the box from Thiago Panzin the Tigers’ right winger.

On 24 minutes The Blueboys broke the deadlock and scored the first goal of the match when Shaw won the ball just outside the box where he slid the ball to Jimmy Warner.

He had cut in from the left and after slipping past a defender he drilled the ball through Adim’s legs to make it 1-0.

For the Tigers both Kumanie Scarlett and Panzin had efforts as they tried to get back into the game.

On 34 minutes the Tigers won a penalty after Shaun Murphy brought down Jonathan Davite inside the box.

Up stepped Tigers captain Terence Cariba to drill the resulting spot-kick into the bottom left corner to make it 1-1.

Five minutes later the Blueboys regained the lead after a Wright corner kick was only partly cleared and their was Dickie to play the ball back into the box where Shaw’s spectacular overhead kick found the far right corner of the net.

In the second half the Blueboys went 3-1 up after Knightley played the ball to Warner who cut into the box down the right side and he squared the ball to Wright who swept home giving Adim no chance.

Tigers though hit-back quickly when a free-kick from Davite was only partly cleared and Davit Movelidze drove home.

The Blueboys tried to restore their two-goal lead with firstly Matt Sutton having an effort go wide, while Shaw saw his drive pushed around the post by Adim.

In the last attack of the match Wright won the ball just outside the box and struck a cracking shot that smacked against Adim’s near post and rebounded out.
