Ann Holahan is a national golf champion, having topped the second division in the UK Public Course Championship.
The Batchwood Hall golfer secured her place in the by coming runner up at the area finals, held at High Elms in July. Holahan showed her mettle in the final around the illustrious St Andrews course in Scotland to win the final on countback.
Her triumph makes her the first member of Batchwood to win a ladies’ national final. The club has won pairs and mixed national championships in recent years.
The club celebrated her victory with champagne and cream cakes in the brand new clubhouse.
