Jimmy Hill put in a man of the match performance to see London Colney past Wembley and into the quarter-final of the Dudley Latham Memorial Cup.
After falling a goal behind, the striker helped himself to a hat-trick and set up Colney’s third goal, scored by Greg Shaw, in a thoroughly impressive outing.
The win set up a tantalising tie against rivals Colney Heath at home in the next round. The Magpies overcame 3-1 in new manager Geoff O’Vell’s first game in charge.
Tigers took the lead before Heath roared back with three unanswered goals to win the game.
