Radlett were involved on one of those rare cricketing occurances in their match away to West Herts – a tied game.

The result does, however, keep them top of the Saracens Herts Cricket League Premier Division.

Winning the toss and choosing to bat first, the Cobden Hill-based cricket club went on to make 222-8 in their 50 overs.

Skipper Kabir Toor followed his unbeaten 76 last week with a knock of 71 this, before he was caught off the bowling of William Jones.

His was the highest score of the innings and it was his partnership with Abhay Hirani for the seventh wicket that was the key moment.

The pair took Radlett from 109-6 to 207-7 before falling in quick succession.

The reply started perfectly with Muhammed Adil Zareef picking up the wicket of Rahul Gajjar with out a run on the board, and they had two more scalps by the time the score had reached 54.

However, as with Radlett, it was a middle-order partnership that changed the game, this one a stand of 107 between Jones and Joe Warren.

Jones made 68 and Warren one less and it got West Herts close but they could only match Radlett’s total by the end, although they did lose one wicket less.

Radlett’s seconds won by 18 runs against Eversholt while the winning margin for the thirds against Kings Langley was six wickets.

And the fourths kept the winning feeling going with a four-wicket success at home to Southgate Adelaide, Richard Hardy getting 3-45 and Rob Bee top-scoring with 43.

St Albans’ first team enjoyed a four-wicket win over Holtwhites Trinibis in Division Two A.

Bowling first they had the hosts all out for 101.

Dan Foster produced the best figures, coming in with 4-29, while Max Capaldi and Jamie Regan both managed two each.

The reply was in a bad way at 44-5 and when Saints lost Adam Hounslow for 33, they were still 30 runs short.

But any thoughts of a home victory were extinguished by and unbeaten 21 from Capaldi and a bruising 22 not out from Tom Wyldes who smashed a six to win the game.

Old Albanian Cricket Club had a mixed day on Saturday with two wins and two defeats.

Unfortunately both the first and second teams were beaten,

Mohammed Haroon hit 62 for the firsts away to Harpenden 2nds but they went down to an eight-wicket loss while the seconds lost by 29 runs at home to Hertingfordbury.

But there was better news for the thirds as they won by 76 runs away to WGC 4ths.

Albanian batted first and struggled at first, reaching 45-5 in only 18 overs.

However, a cultured 69 by Tom Preest and some watchful batting from the lower middle order took them to a total of 186.

And the response was tightly controlled by some strong bowling.

Waleed was the star with the youngster getting 4-10 in five overs and Rod Warren chipping in with three.

Tight bowling from Arif Hassan and Mazar Iqbal had earlier kept WGC in check.

And Simon Wakeling also got four wickets as the fourths won by 26 runs against Botany Bay.

He finished on 4-11.
