Goals from Sam Doolan and Jason Slough and a man-of-the-match performance from Matt Bulser were the highlights.

Jack Hague replied for Stonewood late in the game.

James Crane scored his first of the season for Church End in a 1-1 draw against Skew Bridge Res.

Chris Ellis and Chris Jones put in sterling performances at the back to prevent any further Church End threats as Skew went in search of the equaliser.

And they were eventually rewarded when Joe Burgess scored.

Two goals apiece from Adam Davies, Drew Botterman and Luke Watling gave Brookmans Park a 6-3 win against Garston.

Dan Marsh scored the only goal as New Jacks moved into the semi-final of the Knockout Cup with a 1-0 win against Facelad.

Mick Shuttlewood impressed for Jacks as did Michael Barton for Facelad.

St Albans Rangers went out of the Intermediate Cup 3-1 on penalties against Phoenix Res, after the teams had shared four goals.

The Rangers’ goals came from Sam Carrington and Dean Cullen.

Stonewood Res are also through after a 3-1 win against The Snug Bar.

Dan Hedges, James Kerwick and Tom Mardle grabbed their goals with Jack Dixon replying for Snug.

Cannon Reserves upset their first-team counterparts with a 3-1 win in their Junior Cup Quarter-Final match.

Two-goal Chris Jell was their star man with Lee Greenwood their other marksman.

Nick Heaney replied for the first- team who named Chris Green as their man-of-the-match.

Back in the league, Blacksmiths Arms could only muster a Jamie Hazell goal as they lost 4-1 to Nicholas Breakspear OB in the Premier Division.

Chris Lorriman was Arms outstanding player.

In Division Two, Wheathampstead Swan ran out 6-2 winners in the eagerly anticipated Wheathampstead Derby.

The Swans blasted out of the blocks, racing into a 5-0 half-time lead thanks to two each from Spencer Clarke-Mardel and Alex Vaughan and one from Neil Stevenson.

Clarke-Mardel completed his hat-trick in the second half with Lee Bennett capping a fine performance with both goals for ‘89.

Danny Clifton and Henry Chapman scored two each for Brookmans Park Res as they won 5-2 against The Ridge.

Dan Bedi scored their fifth.

Primary Care extended their unbeaten run to five games with a 2-1 win against St Albans Royals.

The goals came from Ollie Galea and Sam Stephen.

Goals from Brandon Whitman and Ben Hutton gave George Redbourn a 2-1 win against Camp Victorians in Division Three.

A lone goal from Tony Perreira plus a fine showing from Joe Sheridan couldn’t save Harpenden Rovers OB going down 2-1 against Nicholas Breakspear Res.

And in Division Four, Marshalswick almost produced a stunning comeback before eventually losing 3-2 to Royston Rangers.

Goals from Mike Pearson, Dan Gillans and Rob Carraghar put Rangers 3-0 up at half-time but efforts from Steve Bellard and Dave Hudson made it a nervy finish.

Pinewood did, however, produce an incredible fightback in their 4-3 win over The Mill.

Two from Lewis Dommett and one each for Andrew Alsop and Tom Pegram gave them the win.

They had earlier trailed to goals from Jason Nicolaou (two) and Jack Greaves inside the first 20 minutes.

Athletico Quat recorded a hard-earned 1-0 win against Brookmans Park A.

The only goal came late in the game from Darren Cavaree.

Finally in league news, Division One side Tansley (Radlett Village) have decided to withdraw from the league.

Louis Fernandes said in a letter to the league: “It is with deep regret that I have decided to fold the team. We have been struggling for some time to field a full team due to injuries and the jump up in divisions.

“There is no point in carrying on as it is unfair on the refs and the opposition.”
