Jermaine Davey and Ryan Houghton both scored hat-tricks while Tom Cannon got two. Ben Awad and Andy Hanak got the others.

Their opponents in the next round will be Blacksmiths Arms, who just got the edge in a 10-goal thriller against Whitebridge Rovers, winning 6-4.

Rovers had gone into the game unbeaten but were 5-2 down at half-time thanks to doubles from Lewis McGregor and Aidan Golds and Rhys Jacob.

They did pull another two back in the second period before Golds completed his hat-trick and the success for Arms.

Skew Bridge Res are also through despite a slow start against AFC Oddfellows, eventually winning 6-1.

Steve Harris and James Elliott both scored before Oddfellows pulled one back. However, further strikes from Dave Hay, Jon Gregory and a brace from Will Bates completed the win.

Division One Brookmans Park moved into the semi-finals of the Challenge Cup with a shock 2-1 win over Premier Division outfit Phoenix. Second-half goals from Callum Baylis and James Whelan cancelled out a first-half Sam Bozier effort.

Skew Bridge lost 4-2 to cup holders Nicholas Breakspear Old Boys. Tom Smith got both their goals but they were undone by strikes from Adam Wallace (two), Russell Gallagher and David Parkinson for NBOB.

In the Knockout Cup goals from Davan Desai, Matt Alderman and the outstanding Andy Pollock couldn’t save Chequers Inn going down 5-3 to Snug Bar.

Phoenix Reserves are also out of the cup, losing 4-2 against Harpenden Rovers Blue in the Intermediate Cup. Shenahl Samarasinghe and Alex Dowell scored for Phoenix.

And in the Junior Cup, a first hat-trick of the season by Dan Hedges plus Ben Sloan and Lee Newman singles gave Stonewood Reserves a 5-0 win against Jolly Sailor.

Away from the cups Brookmans Park Reserves drew 2-2 with Wheathampstead ‘89 in Division Two, with all four goals coming in the first half.

Michael Bennett and Will Clark were on target for Park while Duncan Gray and man-of-the-match Lee Bennett scored for Wheathampstead.

BWSC recorded their second league win of the season, defeating bottom club TNF 8-3.

Mark Starnes led the way with a hat-trick, backed up by a Sam Leeson brace and singles from Dan Taylor, Luke Starnes and Daniel Taylor.

TNF’s reply came from Harry Gray, Joe Pleece and James Lowthian.

In Division Three Royston Rangers fell to a 3-2 defeat against New Greens with the winner being scored in injury-time. Rangers star man on the day was Mark Fisher with goals coming from Kieran Thorne and Sam Carrington.

New Greens scorers were George Hunter (two) and Charlie Betts.

Oaks recorded a fine 6-0 win against Blackboy. Their man of the match was Scott Sherman who scored twice and assisted in three of the remaining four goals. John Woodward, Haydn Williams, Chris Colman and Luke Marsh were the other men on target.

And in Division Four Marshalswick Rovers lost a high-scoring game, 6-4 to White Horse. Even a second-half hat-trick from Steve Bellard wasn’t enough for Rovers who trailed 4-1 at the break. Sam Fisher scored Rovers’ first-half goal.

Brookmans Park A team had a rare 0-0 draw with AFC Mymms with Toby Hanlon outstanding for Park.

Harpenden Colts Old Boy Reserves survived a dogged-fightback from CHL to win 5-2. Colts were two up within five minutes and some late perseverance paid off.

Matt Shaw, Colt’s man of the match, scored twice with singles for Alex Dennehy, Ben Pegram and Tony Perreira.
