Herts Athletic, with a bare 11 players, battled to a 2-0 win over Rickmansworth Athletic in the Herts Junior Cup thanks to goals either side of half-time from Joe Meija.
Wheathampstead ‘89 recorded a 5-0 win against Markyate Res. The goals came from Gary Edwards (two), his first of the season, Craig Linney, Lee Bennett and Curtis Jones.
Daniel Grousch celebrated his first two goals of the season in Blacksmiths Arms’ 5-0 win over Marquis of Granby. Other goals came from Juhel Ali, Rhys Jacob and Kieran Johnson.
A Dave Hudson hat-trick helped Marshalswick Rovers advance into the next round with a 5-3 win against AFC Old Bellgate.
Greenwood Park ended Harpenden Colts’ cup run, winning 3-2. Scoring for Park were Matt West (two) and James Booth. Colts’ reply came from Alex Dennehy and Joe Bray.
Bricket Wood needed penalties to see off AFC Meads despite having led 4-2. Wood’s goals came from Andrew Alsop (two), Rob Orchard and Dale Sewryn. Matt Clifford scored the winning penalty.
Old Albanians had four players on the score-sheet in a 4-2 away win against Hatfield Cricket Club. The marksmen were Rob Carragher, Oliver Malmed, Chris Phillips and Craig Stevens.
Radlett Village went out of the cup by the odd goal in five against Berkhampsted Ath Res. Their goals came from Alex English and Ross Carpenter.
CHALLENGE CUP: Top marksman of the day came from Nicholas Breakspear OB who beat Wheathampstead Icarus 10-1 with Jason Beck grabbing a double hat-trick. Other goals came from Trevor Stevens, Cain Davey, Josh Humbert and Rian Carroll.
A valiant effort from PSV wasn’t enough against Skew Bridge as they exited the cup, losing 3-2. Greg Deacon and Craig Ashurst were PSV’s scorers. The Skew Bridge goals came from Ben Warren (two) and Mark Hitchcock.
Brad Harrison put in a starring performance for Bull & Jacks, scoring a hat-trick, in their 4-1 win against AFC Welwyn. Joe Wingfield was Jacks’ other scorer.
PREMIER DIVISION: Harpenden Arms held on for a 4-3 win over Six Bells. Arms took a 4-1 lead through Ally Collins, Gary Findlay, Jimmy Warner and an own goal but had to hold on as Aaron Clarke and Mark Marven set up a tense finale. Ayo Olaiwole scored Bell’s first goal.
DIVISION ONE: Skew Bridge Res dropped a vital championship point when Nicholas Breakspear OB Res held them to a 1-1 draw. Steve Harris scored for Bridge and on target for Breakspear was James Wheeler.
Brookmans Park lost 4-1 to FC Potters Bar. Joe Cullum netted for Park.
Precision recorded back-to-back league wins for the first time this season with a 4-1 win over London Colney Cannon. Precision’s scorers were Jay Cains, Dean Thompson (two) and Kelvin Cains. Glen Townsend scored a penalty for Colney.
DIVISION TWO: Veer Dhara ran out 5-1 winners against Herts Mauritian thanks to a free-kick from Chris Armah and four goals from Nick Hanyours.
DIVISION THREE: Dukes lost 3-1 to Cottonmill who moved to the top of the Division. Jarred Goss scored for Dukes and Mill’s goals came from Tim Couch, Mark Gallagher and Pat Nyamangunda.
DIVISION FOUR: White Horse ran out 7-1 winners against Snug Bar thanks to goals from Ross Ypey, their first player to score a hat-trick this season, Michael Blandhard, Mark Farmer, David Malin and Matt Pond. Liam McGarry replied for Bar.
Camp KBK recorded their third league victory with a 4-2 score against AFC Mymms. The goals came from Paul Armstrong (two), Matt Farmer and Ryan Laffoley.
Phoenix A rattled in five goals to beat Brookmans Park, who had taken a two-goal lead through Oli Thomas and Martin Worman.
DIVISION FIVE: Wheathampstead Swan beat Athletico Quat 2-1 thanks to a brace from Alex Vaughan. Chris Gourlay pulled a goal back for Quat but Swan held on.
Harpenden Colts OB Res recorded a comprehensive 8-1 victory over 10-man Nicholas Breakspear 90. George Calderara, Joe Harriman and Steven Inns all netted braces and there was singles for Steve Easterbrook and Danny Hunter.
League leaders Stonewood made it seven wins from seven games with a 6-2 win against White Horse Res.
On the scoresheet for Stonewood were James Brady, Trevor Golder, Ryan Smith, Rudi Stevens and an own goal. Barry Ward scored both White Horse goals.
