ST Peter's suffered another heavy defeat as they went down 7-0 to Hitchin Town Arena in the Herts Senior County League Division One clash at Lemsford.
The Saints managed to raise a side with several players returning to action but the task proved too great as the Hitchin side turned on the style from the kick off.
Two soft goals gave the impressive Hitchin outfit control of the match and they extended their advantage to 4-0 before the break. The Saints were unfortunate not to get on the score sheet themselves when Craig Chapman saw his header clip the post and Tinashe Jaravaza was foiled by an excellent save from the goalkeeper.
Saints were denied a penalty shout before Hitchin were awarded a spot kick at the other end and extended their lead to 5-0.

Hitchin made the Saints pay for individual errors and added two more goals to complete an emphatic 7-0 success. Saints felt a little unfortunate to be on the end of a seven-goal defeat against the best side they have faced this season.
Allenburys Sports provide the opposition on Saturday as they visit Lemsford to take on the Saints with a 3pm kick off.
