Colney Heath Football Club has turned its Herts FA Charity Shield into books for local children.
The Magpies won the competition last season.
The Herts FA allowed the club to nominate an organisation to receive a cheque for £300 and the club chose London Colney Junior Mixed Infants and its modernisation of the school library.
A presentation of the cheque was carried out on Saturday at the Recreation Ground ahead of Heath’s 3-0 win over Leverstock Green. The cheque was presented by Paddy Donovan, competitions secretary at Herts FA, to Claire Oliver, the chair of the school’s PTA.
