COLNEY Heath remain top of the Spartan South Midlands Premier Division despite a 1-1 draw with Hanwell Town on Saturday.
Hanwell, who are currently struggling down in 16th place made a blistering start opening the scoring inside 60 seconds.
Blaise O'Brien was the man to get the goal but Heath weren't behind for long as Greg Deacon drew the Magpies level with his fourth goal of the season.
Scott Lacey and Wes Awad's injury hit squad couldn't find another goal and had to settle for a point.
The Magpies suffered a disappointing 2-1 defeat to local rivals Welwyn Garden City in the Challenge Trophy on Tuesday.
Lacey and Awad took the opportunity to rest a number of key players but the Magpies bowed out 2-1 with Lee Newman grabbing their goal.
Welwyn are the Magpies opponents in the league this weekend, with Heath making the short trip to Herns Lane before welcoming Royston Town to the Recreation Ground on Tuesday night in the Premier Division Cup.
