Roundwood Park has secured John Hartson and Mark Halsey for its Sportsman Dinner on July 16.

Hartson, a former Arsenal, Celtic and West Ham striker, has scored over 160 career goals and has been a Scottish Premier League winner three times while Halsey was a Premier League referee for 14 years and has been in the middle of big matches. As well as their illustrious careers, both have heartfelt memories of their battles with cancer, making this a “can’t miss” event.

Organiser Rob Browell, Roundwood’s lettings manager, said: “It’s great opportunity to hear their stories and hopefully it will inspire everyone in attendance.”

All the money raised from the evening will go towards the school’s refurbishment of the cafeteria. The dinner, which will also feature a sports memorabilia auction, is part of a week-long series of events that includes a PTA Summer Ball and a craft fair.

Tickets are £50 and can be bought from Browell on 01582 714019 or events@roundwoodpark.co.uk. Please note that the evening isn’t suitable for under-18s as some content may be of an adult nature. Doors open at 7pm with a curry supper supplied by Leon Catering and a fully stocked bar.
