Former St Albans City manager Harry Wheeler has left the club with immediate effect.

Wheeler was first promoted from first team coach to caretaker boss when Jimmy Gray and Graham Golds stepped down from their position in November before being given the job until the end of the season in January.

However, the arrival in February of Ian Allinson, saw Wheeler move down to assistant manager before his departure, ending a four year stint at the club.

In a statement on the club’s website, Allinson thanked the Dagenham & Redbridge academy coach for his help.

He said: “I would like to thank Harry for all his hard work since I have been here, he has given a lot to this football club and he certainly has a fantastic career ahead of him.

“However at this time I just wish to make some changes with regards to my backroom staff.

“I will make a further announcement on the changes in due course.”

The statement continued: “Everyone at St Albans City Football Club thanks Harry for his contribution over the last four years and wishes him well for the future.”
