RUGBY UNION: HARPENDEN Rugby Club was the recipient of a cheque for 500 after their successful fundraising efforts this season.

Shirl Musselle and Simone Deans had organised the club’s participation in the RFU Grand Draw which is a nation-wide raffle with over 40 prizes including 10,000 cash and Business Class flights.

This year, Harpenden Rugby Club sold over 6,000 worth of tickets to members, friends and family and received 90 per cent from the ticket sales as a tax free donation.

As the club which had sold the second highest number of tickets in the country, Harpenden Rugby Club also received an additional 500 from one of the draw’s sponsors, Musco Lighting Europe. The club intends to use the money raised to improve the club’s facilities over the summer break.

Anyone interested in playing rugby should come and see the improvements for themselves when the new season starts in September. Please see www.hrfc.com for details.
