A JUNIOR school has walked away from a cross-country competition as all-round champions.

Crabtree Juniors in Harpenden won all individual races and team events in the recent championship at Rovers Football Club which takes place annually and sees all 13 primary schools in the area come together to compete.

The team, made up of children from Years 5 and 6, had shown extreme dedication to preparing for the event and had trained in all weathers including running in the snow over the school holidays.

Head teacher Ian Pattrick said: “This is a great achievement for the whole school – and a testament to the dedication of our PE teacher, Miss Thomas who put so much effort into training the children, and to the determination of the children in the Crabtree team.”
