MORGAN Pugh proved the star performer for Harpenden Swimming Club during the first weekend of county championship action.
The talented 15-year-old collected the 200 Individual Medley Championship Cup (for up to 170year-olds) and also won a gold medal for his 200m backstroke and several silver and bronze medals.
Flora Hanson meanwhile took gold in 100m backstroke, 200m freestyle, 800m freestyle and 400m freestyle. The opening weekend also saw 9-year-old Michael Revell take gold in the 200m breaststroke and 50m breaststroke.
Harpenden Swimming Club have now received their accreditation to the A.S.A.'s Swim21 kitemark scheme as a Skill Development Club. Swim21 being the A.S.A.'s Club Development model. There are five levels of accreditation available to clubs, Foundation, Teaching, Skill Development, Competitive Development and Performance, with each level building on the previous.
