Harpenden Colts held its first inclusive session on Sunday and it was hailed as a ‘great success’.

The day started with a visit from former England Blind Football captain Dave Clarke, who told the children about his international career which spanned over 17 years, 144 caps and 128 goals.

Watford Community Trust’s disability football development officer Conor Craddock ran the session and was assisted by Colts Johnny Maginn.

A spokesman said: “Conor was brilliant, encouraging the children throughout. One parent said her son, who has trouble understanding the social communication aspect of sport, really enjoyed it and would definitely like to come again.”

The club welcomed children aged from five to 18, boy and girls and all with various needs. If you know of someone who would like to join in or you yourself would like to get involved with helping, email harpendencoltsfc@gmail.com.
