Harpenden Bowling Club still has members in the national competitions as they draw to a conclusion.
In the National Mixed pairs, Linda and David Brooks have reached the section final after defeating Pat and Dave Hillson from Rosedale by 23 shots to 13. Their opponents in the final will be Mavis and Dave Hendry from Bushey.
A 21-18 win for Tony Redford in the National Senior Singles against David Bowler at Oak Hill sees him through to the area semi-final against Mark Yelland at Garston.
In the third round of the Ladies County singles, Linda Brooks comfortably beat Helen Winch of Hatfield 21-7, while Janet Hubball had a two and a half hour battle to beat Joyce Terry from Harperbury 21- 17.
In the first round of the District Pairs , Alan Bostock & Tony Redford beat Townsend’s Ronnie Ranstead & Fred Mulberry 30-13.
