London Colney’s Ollie Pattison has described himself as “gutted” after having to pull out of his first title bout because of injury.
The 28-year-old light heavyweight was due to face Slovakian Jozef Kolodzej for the International Challenge Belt at the iconic York Hall in Bethnal Green on Saturday.
But an injury picked up in training, which has left him with a badly-bruised arm, has forced him to cancel the bout.
Posting on his Instagram account he said: “Absolutely gutted to announce this, [I have] been doing everything I can to box Saturday but it hasn’t been enough!
“After a freak accident in sparing I’ve damaged my right bicep/elbow so badly that my team have had no choice but to pull me out the fight!
“At the moment looks like just a slight tear or pull but if I fight, I risk completely tearing it and being out for a long time instead of only a few weeks.
“Everyone will be getting a full refund and I will keep you all posted on my next move!
