LONDON Colney athlete Stuart Thurgood competed in the British Masters Indoor Track and Field Championships at the weekend, held at the Lee Valley Athletics Centre, taking two gold medals and a bronze medal.
Thurgood opened his 2012 hammer throw campaign with an opening mark of 54.86m to win the M35 category, and backed this up with a solid distance of 15.34m to triumph in the 35lbs weight throw event.
The shot putt saw him record his second best ever distance of 13.32m to take the bronze medal.
He travels out to Finland next week to represent Great Britain in the World Masters Indoor Championships where he will be challenging for a medal in the hammer throw and weight throw disciplines.
