HARPENDEN swimmers were in action in Norwich at the weekend at the Regional Winter Championships.

Sixteen-year-old Georgie Smith was the star of the show for the club making two finals.

Georgie finished an impressive 11th overall in the 200m Backstroke with a time of 2:25.66 - a PB of just under 1 1/2 seconds, she also finished 13th in the 50m backstroke recording a time of 32.45s.

Morgan Pugh made the final of his 50m Backstroke hitting the pads at 29.41s while 14-year-old Alex Revell made the final of her 200m Breaststroke coming in on 2:51.97s.

The club's other representatives at the weekend were 13-year-old Abby Smith and 15-year-old Duncan Nicoll who both put in very good performances in their events.

The results show how much work the swimmers put in during training and reflect well on their commitment and determination as well as the commitment and effort put in by the coaching staff to get them to peak for these important competitions.

The club's swimmers are in action this weekend at Barnet Copthall and then on Saturday 21 at the County Development Meet.
