St Albans City snapped a four-game winless streak with a surprise victory over Gosport Borough at Clarence Park.
Justin Bennett cancelled out Lee Chappell’s fantastic 21st minute free-kick just before half-time but, led by inspirational substitute Jack Green, a depleted St Albans side picked up their first Vanarama Conference South win since December 6.
It was the first of a four-game run of home games. Next up is a visit from league leaders Boreham Wood on Saturday, January 10.
