St Albans City slipped to fourth place in the Calor Southern League after a 1-0 home loss to Poole Town on Saturday.
Ekow Elliot scored the only goal of the game as the Dolphins boosted their chances of a top five finish.
The Saints now need to win their remaining three games and hope Cambridge City slip up if they are to finish in the top three and earn a home tie in the play-offs.
