Adam Watts’ third minute header was enough for Eastbourne Borough to beat St Albans City and remain top of the Vanarama Conference South.
The rain-soaked loss was City’s second defeat this season, the other coming on the opening day against Hayes and Yeading.
St Albans’ next game is this Saturday at home to Sutton United, 3pm kick-off.
