St Albans City dropped to 14th in the Vanarama Conference South table after Saturday’s 3-2 loss to Whitehawk.

Geoff Mitchell scored his first league goal since joining the club before Jake Robinson hit a sweet strike to put the visitors 3-1 up. John Frendo netted from the spot after loanee Joel Nouble, on his debut, was fouled, setting up a tense finale, but Whitehawk held on to keep pace with the league’s top five teams.

City travel to Basingstoke this Saturday, 3pm kick-off.

• The club is running a supporters’ coach going to Basingstoke Town for the Vanarama Conference South game on Saturday, November 15. The coach will depart at 11am from the Clarence Park entrance to the ground. Seating is limited so booking is essential.
