St Albans City dropped to 14th in the Vanarama Conference South table after Saturday’s 3-2 loss to Whitehawk.
Geoff Mitchell scored his first league goal since joining the club before Jake Robinson hit a sweet strike to put the visitors 3-1 up. John Frendo netted from the spot after loanee Joel Nouble, on his debut, was fouled, setting up a tense finale, but Whitehawk held on to keep pace with the league’s top five teams.
City travel to Basingstoke this Saturday, 3pm kick-off.
