THE rain my have stopped Radlett in their tracks during an impressive reply against WGC, but there can be no doubt they are ready for the season.
Bowling first, Radlett held WGC to 250 runs from 47 overs thanks to Shane Burger (8.1-38-4) who took four wickets. He was supported by Chad Barrett (8-22-2), Stuart Browne (8-49-2) and Benjamin Lederman (5-41-1).
The only negative was the bowling attack gave away 47 extras, which included 14 no-balls and 25 wides.
With the bat, however, there was very little for returning captain Jonathan McLean to complain about. Joe Cooke (17) was the only casualty, being trapped LBW, as Fraser Crawford (90no) and Burger (45no) had Radlett on course to surpass WGC’s total with wickets to spare before the heavens opened, ending the game.
