The LTA Regional Tour returned to Batchwood for the first time since the 2011 fire, and there was plenty of success for the host club.

The tournament, which featured players from U9 to senior, was moved to Gosling Sports Park in Welwyn Garden City while Batchwood Tennis Centre was rebuilt.

Jon Meredith, head performance coach at Batchwood centre, said the tournament went “really well” and commended the high standard of play on show throughout the six days of competition.

His players performed extremely well, with wins for Ollie Tarvet (U12 boys) and Andre Lukosiute (U14 girls). Jake Penny and Hannah Read finished runner-up in the U16 boys’ and U9 girls’ events respectively.
