Arsenal Ladies gave manager Shelley Kerr the perfect send-off on Sunday by lifting the Women’s FA Cup.

The Gunners beat Everton Ladies 2-0 at stadiummk thanks to Kelly Smith’s first-half header and Yukari Kinga’s goal just after the hour mark.

It was a second successive FA Cup title for Arsenal and manager Shelley Kerr, who announced her decision to resign after a poor start to the Women’s Super League season a week before the final.

The FA Cup win will boost confidence in the camp as the ladies return to their training base in London Colney looking to reverse their fortunes in the Women’s Super League. Arsenal are bottom with one point after four games.
