GARY Fryer finished on a high in the final race at Donington Park on Sunday in the Kumho BMW Championship.

Competing in class A of the championship Gary, from St Albans, lined up with his M3 evo car with a 3,200cc engine. The circuit measures just under two miles in length and features some fast straights followed by twisty corners and chicanes. The weather was hot and sunny all day with no rain, making for quick lap times and close racing.

Gary completed nine laps in qualification and his time of 1.20.88 placed him in ninth position out of 34.

The first race was 12 laps and a broken suspension in the back of his car hindered Gary who had to settle for 10th place. The car was then taken back to the paddock for repair work.

In the second race, Gary powered into sixth place, with an average speed of more than 80mph.
